Jed Fielding

Jed Fielding was born in Boston in 1953. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan, and his MFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. He has photographed extensively in Peru, Greece, Egypt, Spain, the United States, and Italy, and has been photographing in Mexico for more than thirty years. Fielding's photographs have been widely collected and exhibited, and are represented in private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; The Art Institute of Chicago; International Center of Photography, New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His monograph City of Secrets: Photographs of Naples by Jed Fielding was published by The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, and Takarajima Books in 1998, and in 2000, he was awarded an Illinois Artist's Fellowship. The photographs in his current monograph, Look at me, were made in Mexico City between the years 1998 and 2005. Jed Fielding lives in Chicago.
